Experiment kits from the Siemens Stiftung stimulate the intellectual curiosity of Romanian pre-schoolers

The Siemens Stiftung is furthering its commitment to education in Southeast Europe with a donation of 100 experiment kits to kindergartens and pre-schools in Romania. At the end of September, Ulrike Wahl, executive director of the Siemens Stiftung, presented the first Discovery Boxes to select institutions in Bucharest and Sibiu.

The Discovery Box contains materials and instructions for performing experiments that playfully introduce children to natural phenomena and support their natural curiosity. Teachers can choose from 22 interactive experiments that teach about energy, electricity, the environment, and health. This supports the young students in developing abilities and knowledge that will open up greater opportunities in education and the future.

With the donation of these boxes in Romania, the Siemens Stiftung is strengthening its global commitment to science education. “Nurturing the next generation of scientists and technicians is essential to the future of every country,” said Ulrike Wahl. In all, the Siemens Stiftung is donating 900 Discovery Boxes to kindergartens and pre-schools in Southeast Europe. After having presented the boxes in Hungary, Slovenia, and Romania, the next destinations are Croatia and Bulgaria.
