A project must be interactive, use multimedia tools and be sustainable to be chosen by the jury of the eureleA Award, which is bestowed on outstanding models from throughout Europe that are exemplary in supporting education with state-of-the-art technologies. The media portal of Siemens Stiftung is one of the seven finalists. The presentation ceremony will be staged at the international trade fair Learntec in Karlsruhe on February 4, 2014.

The eureleA Award has been presented every year since 2004 and is organized by the ICe - Institute for Computers in Education of Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences. Its objective is to further establish e-learning as a paradigm in education and reveal the potential of technology-supported learning.

The media portal puts this approach into practice with the wide range of media it offers, such as interactive content for teaching with whiteboard or beamer and other materials. The online platform offers educators more than 4,600 digital materials on sciences and technology to enable real-life, skills-based instruction. The media, which are available in German, English and Spanish, can be downloaded free of charge from www.medienportal.siemens-stiftung.org.
