With the exhibition “¿Cómo se regenera este lugar? Acciones colectivas para cuidar la vida” (“How Can This Place Be Revitalized? Collective Actions to Protect Life”), the Museo Interactivo Mirador (MIM) in Santiago de Chile presents the first results of the project “Culturas Regenerativas” from October 11 to November 16, 2025. The opening will take place on October 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the Casino of the MIM (Punta Arenas 6711, La Granja).

The program, launched a year and a half ago by the Siemens Stiftung together with the MIM, experiments with regenerative practices in the neighborhoods surrounding the museum on the outskirts of Santiago. Through citizen science, community activation, educational work, and artistic approaches, the project supports local actors in actively co-creating regenerative ecosystems. The goal is to address climate change and strengthen resilient, supportive communities.

Under the guiding question “How does this place regenerate?”, the exhibition documents the processes of thought and action that emerged during this project phase through engaged collaboration with neighborhood organizations from the La Granja district. Based on experiences in community-oriented environmental education, collective creative processes with artists, and research contributions from scholars, the exhibition brings together the diverse practices and knowledge generated in relation to ecological and social regeneration in the area where the MIM is located. It also positions itself as an invitation to understand regeneration as a shared cultural practice.

Contributors include: Constanza Hermosilla, Arpilleristas Mariposa Colibrí, Natascha de Cortillas, Garúa Taller, and Carpinteros de la Población Yungay.
