GIZ and Siemens Stiftung have selected three Kenyan enterprises to carry out research and development projects in the field of e-mobility. Over a period of twelve months, they will work on market-based solutions and increase their ecological, economic and social impact.

In three virtual sessions, experts lead through the topics of Impact Entrepreneurship and the Triple Bottom Line, Impact Data Generation, and Impact Story Telling.

To mark World Water Day (March 22), Siemens Stiftung releases a new study: “Leveraging decentralized, entrepreneurial approach to safe water supply: A comprehensive study on water kiosks and their impact in rural Kenya”, highlighting the role of social enterprises in providing access to safe drinking water.

The Smart Energy Solutions for Africa (SESA) consortium is delighted to announce the names of SMEs selected for the 2nd SESA call. Eight local enterprises from Cote D’Ivoire, Namibia, Nigeria, Ruanda, and Tanzania will drive forward access to sustainable energy solutions across Africa.

The TeamUp Innovation Fund strengthens local initiatives for improved livelihoods in rural Uganda. Together with our partner foundations Deutsche Stiftung Weltbevölkerung and Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung, we are supporting solutions that bring more equity, sustainable essential services, and economic prospects over a period of three years.

Together with the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ), we are looking for three to five companies for a 12-month cooperation in the field of research and development in the e-mobility sector.

Moving forward the internationally active Siemens Stiftung will focus its project work on the three cross-foundation topics of “Access to Essential Services,” “Connected Societies,” and “Climate & Sustainability.” The necessary transformations demanded by these global challenges will be actively shaped by the foundation in an increasingly interdisciplinary manner from its Education, Social Entrepreneurship and Arts & Culture working areas

Siemens Stiftung and Impact Hub Accra reaffirmed their commitment to the Ghanaian government’s target of decarbonization of the economy. Dr. Nina Smidt, Managing Director and Spokesperson at Siemens Stiftung, joined local enterprise Mana Wahu to launch 60 new e-cargo bikes in Accra.
