EVPA Conference in Berlin – Entrepreneurial thinking for a social impact
The EVPA Annual Conference (European Venture Philanthropy Association) is one of the largest and most well-known conferences in the field of social investment and venture philanthropy. This year, more than 500 experts and practitioners from Europe and beyond will take part in the conference to forge contacts, learn more about, and discuss major developments, research, and trends in this rapidly growing field. This year's conference is themed "Collaboration for Social Impact, the next ten years."
At the official opening of the 19th EVPA Conference, Dr. Nathalie von Siemens, Managing Director and spokesperson of the Siemens Stiftung Board of Directors, said: "We are in the midst of a paradigm shift in philanthropy. We are using new, entrepreneurial instruments to solve social problems. We will only succeed in that if we work on these challenges in a spirit of partnership and learn from each other. That's why this conference is so important."
The EVPA Conference will be held in Berlin on November 17 and 18. The diverse sessions enable social entrepreneurs, social investors, associations, foundations and scientific networks to discuss and develop joint approaches for the sector, in order to enhance efficiency in the field of venture philanthropy. Nathalie von Siemens said at the podium discussion "Reflecting on the Journey: the last 10 years": "Foundations have more to give than money. Siemens Stiftung supports social ventures with networks, training and knowledge transfer together with partners in the initial phase. As part of that, we are committed to simple technologies, qualification and socio-entrepreneurial solutions."
