Invitation to Indo-German event “Nurturing Scientific Talent in India”

Transforming education: With the international education program Experimento, students engage in hands-on, inquiry-based learning to develop 21st-century skills and tackle global challenges.

The German Embassy, Siemens Stiftung (Foundation), Siemens Limited (India), and Pratham Education Foundation are pleased to invite you to the strategic panel, “Nurturing Scientific Talent in India: Indo-German cooperation in education, innovation and skills”.  

In January 2026, German Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Prime Minister Narendra Modi adopted the new Indo-German Comprehensive Roadmap on Higher Education, placing education, research, and skills development at the heart of the bilateral strategic partnership. 

Against this backdrop, this roundtable convenes leaders from government, business, technology, academia, and civil society in India and Germany to chart a robust pathway for nurturing scientific temper and research competencies alongside leveraging AI from the formative school years onward.  

Dr. Philipp Ackermann, the German Ambassador to India, will deliver the opening remarks.

Strategic Panel

The discussions build on the successful launch of STEM Education for Innovation: Experimento India by Siemens India, Siemens Stiftung and Pratham in 2024. Now expanding through digital Open Educational Resources implemented in Siemens India’s Project “Jigyaasa” for students from low-income communities across India. The initiative demonstrates how early, hands-on STEM engagement can contribute to long-term scientific excellence, feeding into Indo-German innovation partnerships.

Experimento India aims to enhance the learning experience of students in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) subjects by offering Open Educational Resources (OER) in line with the recommendations of India’s National Curriculum Framework.
