Siemens Stiftung has joined the Latimpacto community, a network of more than 800 key leaders in the social investment ecosystem in Latin America. Latimpacto’s mission is to mobilize financial, human and intellectual capital to achieve solutions with greater social and environmental impact in Latin American and Caribbean countries. It is built following the model of similar venture philantrophy networks such as the European Venture Philanthropy Association (EVPA).

For Siemens Stiftung, the alliance with Latimpacto provides possibilities to intensify best practice exchange and collaboration with stakeholders that focus on similar working areas such as education and, in particular, a STEM approach (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) for social and sustainable development in the region.

In April 2022, Dr. Nina Smidt, Managing Director and Spokesperson of the Board of Directors at Siemens Stiftung, was appointed as a member of Latimpacto’s Strategic Advisory Board, accepting a two-year mandate. Carolina Suárez Visbal, CEO of Latimpacto, said: “We thank Siemens Stiftung for its commitment to contribute to generating a more significant impact by helping us catalyze environmental and social capital in Latin America. It is invaluable to have such a renowned and experienced organization as member of our community”.
