Project Manager (m/f/d)

Department of Cultur

To strengthen our team in our department of Culture at our Munich office, we are looking to fill the following position (full-time, at the earliest possible date, initially limited to two years) Project Manager (m/f/d) – Department of Culture

At a time of profound global change, Siemens Stiftung, a non-profit foundation, is committed to advancing sustainable societal development. Together with people and communities in our target regions, we create opportunities for action to actively shape social and ecological transformation. Our international work focuses on three closely interconnected fields: Basic Services, Digitality, and Climate. We approach the challenges in these areas collaboratively and see them as opportunities for innovation and positive change. Through our projects in education, social entrepreneurship, and culture, we promote access and participation, strengthen future-oriented competencies, and enable shared learning. By working across disciplines, we connect local action with global perspectives and contribute to resilience, social cohesion, and regenerative practices.

A key focus of our Department of Culture is the development of international projects that address the challenges of socio-ecological transformation and participation under conditions of digitalization. In close collaboration with local partners, these topics are explored from contemporary artistic and local perspectives.

Your future responsibilities:

  1. As part of the foundation’s cross-sectoral program and project work, you will develop international projects together with local partners in the foundation’s target regions and be responsible for their implementation.
  2. Working together with colleagues from various areas of the foundation, you will contribute to innovative, cross-disciplinary projects that address the challenges of socio-ecological transformation and explore issues of participation, including conditions of digitalization. In doing so, you will bring your cultural expertise to the foundation’s cross-sectoral collaboration.
  3. You will engage in ongoing professional exchange with cultural scenes and project partners in the target regions, support the development of local networks, and contribute to ecosystem building.
  4. For the implementation of projects, you will coordinate and lead on-site project teams composed of external local partner organizations, artists, and NGOs.
  5. You will prepare and manage project budgets, including cost control and ensuring compliance with financial requirements.
  6. You will present, communicate, and represent the projects and the programmatic work of the Siemens Stiftung at international events and in public.

What you bring in

  1. You have a university degree in an arts discipline or in cultural studies, or comparable qualifications.
  2. You have solid, several years of curatorial experience in the development of cultural projects and have independently managed and delivered multiple programs. Experience in the independent development and organizational implementation of international projects – preferably in the fields of climate or digitalization – is required.
  3. You have very good knowledge of contemporary cultural scenes and their current developments, and you are familiar with key artistic and sustainability discourses in an international context. You also have a strong international network of stakeholders across the cultural sector.
  4. You have solid experience in working with international partners, as well as a deep understanding of intercultural processes, and communicate confidently in an international environment.
  5. You demonstrate a high level of initiative and a strong drive to shape and develop ideas, combined with a proactive mindset, and actively foster collaboration across teams and networks as well as the building and expansion of successful relationships.
  6. You have fluent German and English language skills; knowledge of Spanish or another language is considered an asset.
  7. Solid knowledge of project management tools and MS Office completes your profile.

What we offer:

  1. The opportunity to actively shape international cultural projects in diverse regional contexts.
  2. Meaningful work with social impact in an international foundation.
  3. Working in a small, internationally connected organization with short decision-making processes and a modern work culture.
  4. Comprehensive onboarding, flexible working hours, and the option of mobile working.
  5. Scope for independent work, learning, and professional development within a creative and committed team.
  6. A wide range of additional benefits: meal allowance, company pension scheme, subsidies for corporate fitness programs or the “Deutschlandticket” for urban and regional mobility, as well as diverse internal and external training opportunities.
  7. An attractive workplace in the heart of Munich with excellent public transport connections.
