We bid farewell to our Chief Financial Officer Georg Bernwieser, who will be leaving Siemens Stiftung on February 28, 2018. Klaus Grünfelder will take over his role as pro bono Chief Financial Officer in March 2018. Together with his board colleagues Nathalie von Siemens and Rolf Huber, he will be responsible for the operative implementation of the goals defined by the foundation.

As pro bono founding director, Georg Bernwieser has actively shaped Siemens Stiftung since 2008 with great passion, high aspirations and personal integrity and influenced it in a sustainable way. He enriched the discourse within the foundation sector above all in questions regarding investments, transparency and impact.

With gratitude we wish Georg Bernwieser all the best for his well-deserved retirement, warmly welcome Klaus Grünfelder and look forward to working together.

Klaus Grünfelder completed his studies in business administration in Trier and London, where he earned his Diplom Betriebswirt (FH) and M.A. degrees. Later he assumed various professional posts both in Germany and abroad in the areas of corporate finance, audits, investment management, controlling and accounting at companies such as Mannesmann, adidas, PwC and Siemens. Among his other roles, he has, as CFO and managing director of Siemens Venture Capital, developed specialized expertise in private equity as well as venture capital and asset management over the last 10 years. Since April 2017, Klaus Grünfelder has been responsible for project and export financing at Siemens Financial Services.
