The international academy MOVIMIENTO SUR supports interdisciplinary dialogue focused on the interaction of movement, art and society.
In temporary academies held annually, MOVIMIENTO SUR creates a new space for collaboration, cultural dialogue and reflection. On the basis of contemporary dance and its potential for innovation, young artists come together in laboratories to work on current social issues and develop new ideas and projects as part of a cross-discipline dialogue. Workshops, public discussions, performances and interventions by artists add innovative aesthetic approaches to the debate. The goal of this intensive program is to promote exchange and collaboration in Latin America and strengthen the continent's own potential.

Along with PANORAMA SUR in Argentina and EXPERIMENTA SUR in Columbia, MOVIMIENTO SUR creates a network of performing arts platforms in Latin America. All three projects emerged from a close collaboration of Siemens Stiftung with local players and international institutions, and each has its own focus.
