As a foundation of the international technology group Siemens, we are steeped in a long tradition of social responsibility. We carry this legacy of our founder in us and act as an independent and nonprofit organization.
Science and technology education plays a key role in our work. We also promote entrepreneurial approaches, personal initiative, creativity and innovation.
It is our conviction that technological innovation always goes hand in hand with social innovation: Only if we develop a common understanding of the challenges of our time and the way we aim to tackle them will we be able to create true innovation.
We as a foundation have a long-term commitment – one that is operationally active, international, transparent and based on a spirit of partnership.
Siemens Stiftung primarily operates and provides funding only in exceptional cases. All available funds are currently committed to medium-term projects. We kindly ask for your understanding that we have no funds to support additional projects. Only by focusing the deployed resources, we are able to achieve sustainable project results through our foundation’s work. You can learn more details about the use of our funds in our annual report.
Instruments of our operational work
We use five instruments to drive change processes:
We develop concepts and programs of our own and put them into practice with local partners.
We support social entrepreneurs or community initiatives that pursue similar goals to ours.
So that our projects are self-supporting over the long term, we promote the skills of everyone involved.
We create platforms for transferring knowledge and exchanging experience.
We identify and promote innovative solutions by means of competitions.
