As a foundation of the international technology group Siemens, we are steeped in a long tradition of social responsibility. We carry this legacy of our founder in us and act as an independent and nonprofit organization.
Science and technology education plays a key role in our work. We also promote entrepreneurial approaches, personal initiative, creativity and innovation.
It is our conviction that technological innovation always goes hand in hand with social innovation: Only if we develop a common understanding of the challenges of our time and the way we aim to tackle them will we be able to create true innovation.
We as a foundation have a long-term commitment – one that is operationally active, international, transparent and based on a spirit of partnership.
Siemens Stiftung primarily operates and provides funding only in exceptional cases. All available funds are currently committed to medium-term projects. We kindly ask for your understanding that we have no funds to support additional projects. Only by focusing the deployed resources, we are able to achieve sustainable project results through our foundation’s work. You can learn more details about the use of our funds in our annual report.
Work with strong partners
In our work, we cooperate closely with research and educational institutions, business, government, civil society, and other local partners. These are partners with whom we share a common goal and the search for the best course of action.
We are joined by a long-term programmatic cooperation with some of our partners. As part of that, our core competencies are complemented, meaning greater coverage and quality can be achieved.
So that our concrete project work can succeed, it is vital to work with experienced local partners so as to develop solutions that are actually useful.
Alliances in subject-specific networks generate synergies for lasting and positive social change.
