Educational partnerships with the media portal

Siemens Stiftung, with the digital teaching materials on its media portal, helps instructors motivate and educate young people in the fields of science and technology. To reach as many instructors as possible, the Stiftung relies on partnerships with other educational institutions – both in Germany and abroad.

Such partnership agreements are based on the transfer of metadata. This makes it possible to share only descriptions of the media, the so-called metadata, based on a nationally uniform standard. The content itself remains the property of the Siemens Stiftung. The instructional media are flagged with metadata at the time they are created. This metadata includes the title, a description of the contents, copyright information and keywords based on content and didactic criteria.
