Quality criteria and objectives

Active school partnerships always involve much more than just individual projects, sponsoring activities or donations in kind. A school partnership has to be fostered and cultivated! Moreover, it can only be established on an enduring basis and successfully implemented if certain qualitative requirements are met.

Quality criteria for a Siemens partner school which should

  • be in the immediate vicinity of a Siemens location or facility.
  • teach students aged 11 to 18.
  • value a thorough mathematical, scientific and technical education and intensive use of modern information and communications technologies.
  • promote a theoretical and practical knowledge of business and economics.
  • be committed to modern, value-oriented education.
  • be genuinely interested in issues relevant to our company.
  • identify itself with our basic principles.
  • have a strong, long-term interest in knowledge-based cooperation.
  • not have close contacts with any of our competitors.
  • be willing to base the partnership on a cooperation agreement and document it in a binding annual plan
  • be willing to have the quality of the partnership reviewed on an annual basis.

Objectives

The main goal of our commitment is to foster students. By working together with schools, Siemens wants to prepare young people for their future lives and careers and to strengthen the knowledge-oriented dialogue between Siemens and the educational community.

Our school partnerships aim to:

  • stimulate curiosity and enthusiasm for the fascinating world of technology
  • expand knowledge of mathematics, the natural sciences and technology
  • teach students to search for complete solutions and to work independently
  • foster key characteristics like creativity, flexibility and the ability to work in teams
  • communicate a sound knowledge of business and economics and prepare students for today’s working world
  • create openness for technological and social megatrends
  • present Siemens as an expert partner.
