By publishing an annual report with financial statements and accepting monitoring by regulatory authorities, Siemens Stiftung is offering transparent, public reporting on the use of its funds in accordance with guidelines applicable to publicly traded companies of a similar stature. We report on the various projects of the most recent fiscal year and on the future objectives and strategies of the foundation.
By participating in the Transparent Civil Society Initiative and adopting the “Guiding Principles of Good Practice for Foundations”, the Siemens Stiftung has demonstrated the importance it attaches to transparency in its work. This is further demonstrated by.
The Siemens Stiftung is committed to clear, transparent and straightforward public disclosure of its structure, its activities, the source of its funding and the use of its funds. We have demonstrated this commitment by joining the Transparent Civil Society Initiative (hier Link auf die externe Seite der Initiative) effective September 30, 2010. With this step, we seek to do our part in establishing the broadest possible consensus for action within civil society to agree on the key parameters for effective transparency.
This self-regulation, developed under the leadership of Transparency International in Germany, requires that companies publish ten precisely defined, relevant categories of information and make them easily accessible to the wider public. This information, available on our website, has been compiled again here:

The Siemens Stiftung adheres to the “Guiding Principles of Good Practice for Foundations” published in 2006 by the General Assembly of the Association of German Foundations. These principles codify the responsible, transparent and effective conduct of all employees, boards and committees in accordance with the mission of the foundation.
Transparency: The Siemens Stiftung’s responsibility toward society is evident in the transparent, clear communication of its commitment, its structure, and the source and application of its funds.
Trustees of the founder’s intent: In their actions, the partners and employees of the Siemens Stiftung consider themselves trustees of the intent expressed in the endowment transaction and its Articles of Associations. They consistently work to realize this intent. They act altruistically and avoid conflicts of interest or, in the event of doubt, they declare such conflicts of their own accord. The Siemens Stiftung evaluates its activities and projects on a regular basis, both in regard to achievement of goals within its social and cultural commitment and to the main topics defined in the Articles of Association.
Cooperations and exchange of experience with partners: The Siemens Stiftung values interdisciplinary cooperation both within the Stiftung and with external partners. This arises from the conviction that more comprehensive, sustainable approaches can be achieved together and their effect strengthened through the combination of competencies. To this end, the Siemens Stiftung places special emphasis on maintaining a network of strong cooperation partners.
