Commitment to Education
The long-term viability of a society depends on responsible, young people who confront the challenges of their time. Globally, science and technology education (MINT*) is an important tool for a country to leverage economic and social development.
Education is a prerequisite for participating in an increasingly technological world, for social prosperity and more equal opportunities. A qualified science education is essential for shaping the future in a critical and responsible way.
With its educational program, Siemens Stiftung provides valuable input for modernizing educational materials and methods for a good MINT education for children, especially in disadvantaged regions. We support the training and continuing education of teachers and educators. Our aim is to embed science content in an integrative, value-oriented, cosmopolitan education that encompasses other fundamental educational content such as language development and cultural reflection.
*MINT stands for mathematics, information technology, natural sciences and technology
