Today in Germany, one in three children under the age of five stems from an immigrant background. The Siemens Stiftung is working to ensure equality and opportunity in the interaction of people of diverse origins. Language acquisition functions as a gateway: language is the basis for optimal personal and educational opportunities. That´s why language development is the key to children´s successful and rapid integration. The Siemens Stiftung provides special support for children of immigrant families starting at age three to help them learn the German language.
